CITTA’s all-girls school and our partner, Rajkumari Ratnavati Girls School, opened in 2022 and sits in the rural desert Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan—where there is little autonomy for women and extreme geographic and socioeconomic challenges for all. The region has one of the world’s lowest female literacy rates and one of the highest child bride rates, and many girls are swept into cycles of gender inequality and poverty.
